Tripura set to introduce live power line repairing technology

Agartala, June 19 (UNI) Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday announced that the state government will soon introduce a live-line work technology that allows repairs on power transmission lines without shutting down the power supply.
He emphasized that several key initiatives are being undertaken to further strengthen the state’s power infrastructure. These include Live-line repair technology to avoid shutdowns during maintenance, use of drones for monitoring faults and maintenance of tower lines, commissioning of mobile substations to ensure uninterrupted supply during disasters, and measures to handle additional load during peak summer months.
Out of nine planned 132 kV substations under the current project, eight have already been completed, while work is ongoing on the remaining two. Nath also informed that upgraded high-capacity cables are being installed along the Agartala 79 Tilla–Rukhia line, and a new tower line from Ambassa to Gandacherra is under construction with support from the North Eastern Council.
The Minister directed power department officials to remain proactive in addressing consumer grievances. “Officials must listen to complaints patiently and ensure timely resolution,” he added.
