True Hope Foundation contributes Rs 50 lakh to Army welfare fund for flood-affected families

New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) True Hope Foundation has contributed Rs 50 lakh to the Army Central Welfare Fund to support Indian Army personnel and families of Nepali origin affected by the recent floods in Nepal, the Sapta Shakti Command said on Thursday.
The contribution will be utilised to provide ex-gratia assistance to serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents of Nepali origin who have served in the Indian Army and have been affected by the natural disaster.
The Sapta Shakti Command, on behalf of the Indian Army, expressed its appreciation for the contribution, describing it as a gesture of solidarity with personnel and their families during a time of distress.
The Army said the initiative also reflected the enduring bonds between the armed forces and civil society, as well as the longstanding ties of friendship between India and Nepal.
The True Hope Foundation has been involved in humanitarian initiatives spanning disaster relief, medical assistance, education, disability support, animal welfare and other forms of humanitarian aid. It works with NGOs, hospitals, volunteers and social organisations to provide assistance to communities affected by emergencies and other hardships.
The Army acknowledged the contribution by the foundation, its partners, and donors, saying such acts of compassion strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and civil society.
