Two cops killed as dumper truck hits their mobile van in Haldia

Kolkata, July 2 (UNI) Two policemen, including an officer, were killed after their mobile van in which they were travelling was hit by a dumper on Haldia-Mecheda 116 national highway in the midnight in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur, official sources said today.

The deceased, identified as Mahishadal police station second officer Jayanta Ghosal and constable Sk Sahana. Another constable, who sustained critical wounds, was admitted to the Tamralipta Medical College and Hospital.

The accident took place at Gaighata under Mahishadal police station. The police van was thrown off the road and fell into a water-filled ditch.
