Two killed in road accident in Jharkhand’s Giridih

Giridih, June 9 (UNI) An elderly woman and a toddler were killed after being run over by a tractor in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Monday, police said.
Police sources said the incident occurred in the Gumgi area, where the tractor, travelling at high speed, hit a woman and a child, resulting in their instant deaths.

The deceased have been identified as 58-year-old Kausalya Devi and her two-year-old grandson Riansh Sharma.

The grandmother was returning home after taking her grandson for treatment when the tractor, which had first hit an electric pole, crushed them.

The police reached the scene, but angry villagers blocked them from taking away the bodies, demanding action against the tractor owner and driver, as well as compensation. The case is under investigation.
