UP: Man gets lifer for sexually assaulting daughters in Jaunpur

Jaunpur (UP), May 21 (UNI) A man was sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 54,000 by a special court here on Wednesday for sexually assaulting his two daughters, prosecution sources said here.
Prosecution sources said that a woman, a resident of Sureri area in the district registered a case that her husband had been raping his 15-year-old and 13-year-old minor daughters for the last six months and used to threaten them.
"On the basis of the complaint a case was registered at the Sureri police station on April 29, 2022," they said.
Prosecution sources said that after examining the statements of witnesses and the evidence available on record, the court of Additional Sessions Judge (Pocso) Umesh Kumar held the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 54,000.
