UP’s glorious heritage narrated through seventh-century Ganga idol at Prem Mandir in UPITS

Greater Noida, Sep 27 (UNI) From the seventh-century idol of Ganga to the tenth-century Garudarudha Lakshmi Narayan and the 12th-century idol of Saraswati, the Culture Department’s outlet at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show showcases the state's centuries-old cultural heritage.
The exhibition at India Expo Mart presents different periods of Uttar Pradesh’s art and culture through ancient idols, digital manuscripts, paintings, and replicas of historical sites.
Many people are visiting the exhibition. The outlet's main entrance has been designed as a replica of the main entrance and Brahmand Dwar of Prem Mandir, which has become an attractive selfie point for visitors.
The exhibition displays ancient idols recovered from different parts of the state. The exhibition includes a tenth-century idol of Garudarudha Lakshmi Narayan recovered from Mirzapur, an 11th-century idol of Lord Vishnu found in Sultanpur, a tenth-century idol of Maheshwar recovered from Ranipur in Kanpur, and an 11th-century idol of Lord Vishnu found in Almora.
The 12th-century idol of Saraswati recovered from Gorakhpur is attracting people’s attention. The seventh-century idol of Ganga is also a special attraction.
These idols offer a glimpse into Indian craftsmanship, religious traditions, and cultural life across different periods.
A special curiosity about these ancient heritage objects is being seen among students and young people. Many young visitors are also seeking information about the idols' history and the period in which they were created.
The exhibition has given Braj's cultural identity a special place. The outlet entrance has been designed as a replica of the main entrance and Brahmand Dwar of Prem Mandir.
Its grand structure is attracting visitors, who can be seen taking photographs and selfies here. In this way, the gateway has become not only part of the exhibition's cultural message but also a center of attraction.
The State Lalit Kala Akademi has also displayed artwork by various painters. Alongside cultural heritage, the exhibition also gives space to contemporary art. Here, painters are preparing portraits of visitors on the spot. This gives the exhibition a vibrant presentation.
Manuscripts from different periods have been displayed in digital frames. Through this, the younger generation can view and understand the old knowledge tradition and historical material through modern technology.
The exhibition also features replicas of Raskhan’s tomb in Mahavan, Mathura, Kusumba Sarovar in Govardhan, and the Sarnath Temple in Mirzapur.
Harish Chandra Dubey, Technical Assistant (Sanskrit), Culture Department, said that young people are showing great enthusiasm after seeing objects associated with ancient culture.
