Uttarakhand CM said, "Proposed 100 Miles HEUR is expected to give a new dimension to long-distance endurance running in Uttarakhand’s high-altitude Himalayan terrain. The race would provide runners from India and across the globe an opportunity to experience the Himalayas’ distinctive geography and Uttarakhand’s spectacular natural landscapes. It will help enhance tourism acope in border areas and create new employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth."
Dhami said that event like Adi Kailash Parikrama Run has generated economic opportunities for homestay operators, local guides, transport service providers, hotels and food businesses.
He further said this race was a key source of encouragement for his government to replicate it with similar event HEUR in Garhwal region.
Dhami claimed that his government aims to ensure that benefits of tourism reach local communities and contribute to sustainable livelihoods.
"Uttarakhand’s Himalayan geography, scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage give the state a distinctive advantage in adventure tourism.
