Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios commission animated series 'Mister Miracle'

Lyon (France), June 13 (UNI) Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios have unveiled their latest venture into adult animation with "Mister Miracle", an emotionally charged, psychological layered series based on the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel by writer Tom King and artist Mitch Gerads.
King will serve as executive producer and showrunner of the series, which is currently in production.
This is the second adult-focused animated project from the studios, following Creature Commandos, a series created by James Gunn, now in production for its second season. Other recent animated series orders from DC Studios include "Starfire!", "My Adventures with Green Lantern", and "DC Super Powers".
Mister Miracle follows Scott Free, a legendary escape artist whose seemingly perfect life with his warrior partner Big Barda begins to unravel as the celestial realms of New Genesis and Apokolips descend into war. Scott's cruel adoptive father, Darkseid, claims to have found the Anti-Life Equation, a powerful force that could control all life in the universe, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
As the mountains of bodies on both sides grow ever higher, only Mister Miracle can stop the slaughter and restore peace. But the terrible power of the Anti-Life Equation may already be at work in his own mind, warping his reality, exposing his long-buried pain, and shattering the fragile happiness he’s found with the woman he loves.
The boilerplate for Mister Miracle describes the show as a “harrowing, hilarious, heart-wrenching journey across the pitfalls of the ordinary and extraordinary as the son of God raised by the devil tries to save his family, his world, and maybe even himself.”
Mister Miracle's network distribution is currently under negotiation, but its unveils during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival signals Warner Bros.' ambition to push the boundaries of animated storytelling. UNI NST SSP
