New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Atishi on Saturday said that despite the BJP being in power in the national capital, the people of the city are deprived of basic necessities such as drinking water.
Atishi said she has written to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta seeking an appointment with her over the water crisis. "Women standing in queues in front of tankers, children waiting with buckets and pots -- these scenes are now becoming the new identity of Delhi. Did the BJP show the dream of such a Delhi to the people?"
She said water supply has been disrupted for 24 hours at some places, making the people angry. "But the government and ministers are silent. Despite the BJP's 'four engine' government in Delhi, the people of Delhi are also deprived of basic needs like water," said Atishi.
"I am writing this letter to you about the severe water crisis in the capital Delhi. We are still in May, the real summer heat is yet to come, but the people of Delhi are struggling with a terrible shortage of water, " Atishi said.
