Kolhapur, May 23 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today announced full support for the survival and growth of the cooperative movement in the state.
"The cooperative sector has a major role in the development of the state and the country. To survive in the era of competition, it is necessary to change the cooperative sector with the times and we will provide necessary support for the survival and growth of the cooperative movement," he said.
Inaugurating the 75th Amrit Jubilee of Vishwanathrao Patil Murgud Cooperative Bank in Kagal taluka of Kolhapur district, Pawar also said that the government is implementing many schemes for the betterment of farmers, women and the common man.
Many schemes are being implemented such as free electricity supply to farmers, Ladki Bahin Scheme to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1500 per month to women. Farmers in the state are being given subsidies every year for agricultural related industries.
Pawar said that there will be no shortage of funds to implement schemes for farmers, at the same time, the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Scheme implemented for the empowerment of women will continue.
He also appealed to the farmers of Kolhapur to use AI technology to develop agriculture, given the rich agricultural and sugarcane sectors in the city.
