YSRCP launches ‘Save Vizag’ campaign, targets TDP government

Visakhapatnam, Oct 25 (UNI) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders on Sunday launched a ‘Save Vizag’ campaign, accusing the TDP government of neglecting Visakhapatnam’s development and alleging irregularities in the local body election process.
Former ministers Kurasala Kannababu and Gudivada Amarnath, MLC and party’s Mayor candidate Varudu Kalyani, and other leaders released the campaign poster at the party office here.
Speaking to the media, Kannababu alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had failed to ensure meaningful development of Visakhapatnam over the last two years and was focusing instead on events such as yoga programmes, investment summits and photo opportunities.
He alleged that government land was being sold at a nominal price of Rs 99 per acre and accused the ruling party of undermining the election process through allegedly false nominations.
Kannababu appealed to voters to elect the YSRCP Mayor candidate and other party nominees to protect Visakhapatnam’s interests.
Former minister G. Amarnath also criticised the TDP government and said the YSRCP was committed to its ‘Blue Vizag’ policy.
