'I’m writing new book': Richa Chadha

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Actress Richa Chadha is returning to the written word with a new book, following a journey that has already taken her from an unfinished travel manuscript to her YouTube series Musafiri.
The "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" actress said the book will look at India’s contribution to the wider world, while also examining the ways in which colonialism has shaped and, in some respects, damaged the country, reports Variety India.
The 39-year-old actress also shares that before turning “Musafiri” into a show, she was writing a travel book commissioned by Penguin. “But this was what the book would have been about. In my mind, I thought, ‘Why don’t I just film this? That’s why it (the show) has that kind of writing. That’s why it’s a little bit poetic'.”
But why didn’t her earlier attempt to write a book come to fruition? the "Fukrey" actress explains, “After I wrote the book, my thoughts about many things that were in it changed. If I no longer believed in it, how could I publish it?” She describes “Musafiri” as her gift to her daughter, Zuneyra Ida Fazal, and her generation, whom the actor believes wouldn’t be as inclined toward reading books.
