Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena (UBT) asked why is the government so concerned about the interests of Muslims. Even barrister Mohammad Ali Jinnah did not worry so much. It seems as if the soul of Mohammad Ali Jinnah has risen from the grave and entered the place.
He said that there were people who talked about creating a Hindu nation, now it seems that they are going to create a Hindu Pakistan. The objective of the bill that has been brought is not clear.
HD Deve Gowda of the Janata Dal-Secular said the bill aims to prevent the misuse of Waqf properties. Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for this bill, he said that this property has been given by donors and some people are using it for personal interests.
Gowda said that we should forget the past and look towards the future and make proper arrangements so that this property can be useful to the general public. He said that this bill will protect the properties given by the donors and for this the Prime Minister and his ministers deserve congratulations.
Congress MP Abhishek Singhvi said that this bill is trying to snatch away what is given in the Constitution. There is less of an amendment and more of a conspiracy. This is not a law but an arbitrary decision wrapped in legal language.
Participating in the discussion, Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party said that this is an important and controversial bill. He said that there is confusion among many members of Parliament regarding the bill and this is also spreading among the people of this country. He said that the government should be very cautious on the issues related to this bill. He said that all religions should be treated equally.
Praful Patel of the Nationalist Congress Party said that Parliament is supreme for making laws. To make India a big economy, changes are needed in the law and this bill is also a part of that series. He said that Waqf has been a part of history. Changes in it are necessary with time and this is what is being reformed. He said that this bill will not cause any harm to any person.
Congress member Imran Pratapgarhi termed the bill as unconstitutional and said that the Constitution says that everyone in the country is equal. Everyone has the right to build and maintain temples, mosques and gurdwaras for their religious purposes. The Minister of Minority Affairs is speaking lies and misleading the country. Misinformation is being spread about Waqf. UNI RBE SSP
