Haryana Police identify Delhi man accused of smashing woman's car headlight with iron rod

Panchkula, Sep 24 (UNI) Haryana Police have identified a Delhi resident accused of smashing a woman's car headlight with an iron rod following an alleged road-rage incident in Gurugram last month, a police spokesperson said here on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Swayam, son of Dinesh Sharma and a resident of Aya Nagar in Delhi, is currently undergoing treatment for dengue at a private hospital and will be arrested after his discharge, the spokesperson said.
"A police team has been deployed at the hospital where the accused is undergoing treatment. He will be arrested in accordance with law after being discharged," the Haryana Police spokesperson said.
The incident occurred on August 27 near AIT Chowk when the complainant was travelling towards the Sector-54 Metro Station in Gurugram.
According to the complaint, the driver of a Scorpio allegedly hit the side of the woman's car and used abusive language during the ensuing altercation. He then allegedly took out an iron rod and smashed the car's headlight before fleeing.
Police said a complaint was received at Sector-56 police station on September 21 and a case was subsequently registered under relevant provisions of law.
Published reports citing the FIR said the case was registered under Sections 125, 281 and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to acts endangering personal safety, rash driving and mischief causing property damage.
