Major setback for Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena as key Hingoli leaders join Shinde camp

Hingoli, Nov 4 (UNI) In a major setback to the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, several prominent leaders from Hingoli district, including party district chief Ajay alias Gopu Patil and former MLA Santosh Tarfe, joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
The induction ceremony was held in Thane in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde. The mass defection comes at a time when no elections are scheduled, indicating a significant political realignment in the district.
Along with Patil and Tarfe, several office-bearers, including taluka-level party chiefs, former Zilla Parishad members, former Panchayat Samiti members and Market Committee members, joined the Shinde-led faction. Hundreds of party workers and office-bearers also switched sides, dealing a major blow to the Uddhav Thackeray faction in Hingoli.
The leaders joined the Shinde faction under the leadership of MP Nagesh Patil Ashtikar and MLA Santosh Bangar.
Welcoming the new entrants, Eknath Shinde said that Santosh Tarfe and other leaders had joined the Shiv Sena that follows the ideologies of Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe.
"I wholeheartedly welcome you to the Shiv Sena. We have to accelerate the pace of development in the region. There are several projects and development works, including those that remain incomplete, which need to be taken forward. I believe we have already provided substantial funds to Santosh Bangar for development in the region," Shinde said.
Assuring the new entrants of continued support, Shinde said the Shiv Sena would stand firmly behind them for the development of the region and the upliftment of the tribal community.
"The Shiv Sena will always support you in your efforts for the progress of the tribal community and the development of the region. You should continue working for society and the Shiv Sena. I assure you that you will not face any shortage of support or resources," he said.
Shinde also congratulated all the leaders and workers who joined his party, expressing confidence that they would strengthen the organisation and contribute to the development of the region.
