Rahul Gandhi, Kharge greet Modi on 76th birthday amid political differences

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president and LoP in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wishing him good health and a long life.
In separate messages posted on social media platform X, the two senior Congress leaders conveyed their wishes to Modi, who turned 76 on Thursday.
“Happy birthday to PM Narendra Modi ji. Wishing you good health and a long life,” Gandhi wrote in his post.
Kharge also extended his greetings to the PM, saying, “Best wishes to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and long life.”
The greetings came against the backdrop of continuing political differences between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government over governance, economic policies, democratic institutions and other national issues. Despite these disagreements, Gandhi and Kharge extended personal birthday wishes to the PM.
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi has served as India's Prime Minister since May 2014. His birthday is being marked by greetings from political leaders and public programmes across the country.
