SARAS Mela draws over 20,000 visitors, records sales of Rs 10 lakh on day 3

Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) The SARAS (Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society) Mela at HMDA grounds near the IMAX theatre in Hyderabad attracted over 20,000 visitors and recorded sales exceeding Rs 10 lakh on its third day on Friday, reflecting growing demand for products made by rural women and self-help groups, official sources said.
The exhibition features traditional products, handicrafts, food items, snacks and handloom textiles from Telangana and other states, providing women entrepreneurs a platform to sell directly to consumers, expand their markets and understand customer preferences.
Women’s group members from various districts also shared their business experiences with SERP officials, discussing marketing challenges, sales opportunities, market linkages and ways to improve product reach.
Cultural programmes and traditional art performances were additional attractions, drawing visitors to the fair.
