Trying to drag Gurdwara into dirty politics will not be tolerated; it is not a protestors' stage: DSGMC president Kalka

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Harmeet Singh Kalka, president, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, has expressed strong displeasure, alleging that several AAP leaders, MLAs were indulging in dirty politics, and trying to make an issue over the police taking away protestors who had entered a Gurdwara and tried to raise slogans inside the premises.
Kalka in a video message said that it was very unfortunate that some leaders are making an issue over this, trying to undermine the Gurdwara Managing Committee, saying how could they allow police to enter.
However, the DSGMC president said the Gurdwara is a sacred place that gives food and shelter to those in need, but such kind of protests cannot be allowed inside the premises, and in such a scenario police will take away such people who try to misuse the premises, and try making the holy place as their stage.
In stern words, he said that he wants to make it clear that whoever tries to make a Gurdwara a political arena, will not at all be tolerated.
He reiterated that a Gurudwara is a place where people come to worship, take Prasad, but it is not at all a place for protestors to make it a platform, and misuse the same.
On Saturday, reportedly, several protestors who tried to move towards Jantar Mantar, and were driven away by the police after a warning, had entered the premises of the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara and later allegedly tried to stage a sit-in, and wave placards inside the holy place.
They were asked to leave by the Gurdwara staff, as such activities are not allowed and also against the dignity of the religious place.
