Arunachal Cong organises 'Jai Hind Yatra' in solidarity with Armed Forces & Operation Sindoor

Itanagar, May 9 (UNI) As per the All India Congress Committee's (AICC) directive, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organised the ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here on Friday to show the grand old party’s solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces engaged in Operation Sindoor, a strong response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
Hundreds of Congress leaders and workers, including the rank and file of the APCC, APMCC, APYC, APCSD, APCSDYB, NSUI, and district and block-level units, participated in the rally, which was held under the chairmanship of APCC working president Techi Tagi Tara.
Addressing the gathering, APCC vice president Mina Toko expressed full support for the Army, Navy, and Air Force involved in the counter-terror operation. Speaking on behalf of APCC president Nabam Tuki, she said the Jai Hind Yatra reflects the party’s commitment to national unity and justice for the victims of the cowardly Pahalgam attack. She urged the state government to be prepared for the evacuation of stranded students from Jammu and Kashmir should the situation escalate.
The APCC vice president recommended convening an all-party meeting to address regional security, particularly in light of a provocative statement allegedly made by the interim president of Bangladesh in China, suggesting aggressive intentions toward Northeast India, noting that Bangladesh is ready to take over all of Northeast in the event of a war between India and Pakistan. She described the statement as a “serious territorial security threat” and called upon both the state and central governments to take immediate and strategic action to fortify the NE region.
The APCC commended the efforts of the armed forces in striking terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and acknowledged the support shown by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for national security initiatives.
It said the Congress party stands united during this time of crisis and extends full support to our armed forces, who are bravely fighting against the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in India. The event concluded with a firm declaration from APCC that the time is right for India to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
