Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, after meeting the family of a man and his son killed during the anti-Waqf Act protest violence in Murshidabad, on Saturday emphasised that restoring peace in the region is the top priority and promised to speak with both centre and state.
"I have taken note of the requests—there are three to four key suggestions, including the demand for BSF deployment in the area. I will raise the matter with the relevant authorities, and some proactive steps will certainly be taken. I have also shared the 'Peace Room' helpline number from Raj Bhavan with them," the Governor said after meeting the family members of Late Hargobindo Das and Chandan Das, the father - son duo killed in violence at Samserganj in Murshidabad last week.
