Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) The Trinamool Congress launched a sharp critique of the National Commission for Women (NCW) over their visit to riot-hit Murshidabad in West Bengal, alleging that the move is part of a BJP-led ploy — backed by the central government — to deploy central teams to the state for political mileage ahead of the coming elections.
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose terming the National Commission for Women as ‘Notorious Commission for Women’ wrote on her X handle, “The @NCWIndia is not National Commission for women’ but Notorious Commission for Whitepapers. In Sandeshkhali NCWIndia made women sign blank papers to cook up fictitious rape charges. Now, at BJP4India ’s behest, NCW in Malda & Murshidabad. The question must be asked: more white papers incoming?”
