Bengal : Youth lynched for protesting eve-teasing of his live-in-partner at New Town

Kolkata, Apr 24 (UNI) A youth was lynched by a group of people when he was protesting the alleged eve-teasing to his live-in-partner in Kolkata's New Town area, police said on Thursday.
The crime happened on Wednesday night when victim Sanket Chatterjee was out of his flat onto the street of Gauranga Nagar ( New Town) after his live-in-partner shouted for help, the eve-teasers began to hit Sanket with bamboos and he fell unconscious.
He was taken to the NRS Medical College and Hospital at Sealdah where he breathed his last this morning, police said.
The victim and his girlfriend were staying at the Gauranga Nagar flat for the past one and half years. On Wednesday night the two had some quarrel and the girl came out of the flat and encountered the eve-teasers. The victim came out of the flat after hearing her cries and was fatally beaten.
