BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of orchestrating 'open war against the Indian State'

BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of orchestrating 'open war against the Indian State'

Bengaluru, Mar 16 (UNI) The Karnataka BJP on Sunday launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of orchestrating an "open war against the Indian State" by championing policies that allegedly prioritise appeasement over constitutional principles.

In a strongly worded post on X, the BJP slammed the decision of the Congress government in Karnataka to introduce reservations for Muslims in government contracts, branding it a "Black Day for the Constitution." The saffron outfit alleged, "The party that crushed democracy during the Emergency is now tearing apart the Constitution to serve its vote bank."

The BJP singled out Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of playing divisive politics that undermine the majority community's interests. "Looks like Balak Buddhi @RahulGandhi’s open war against the Indian State is in full swing!" the post read. The party further alleged that the Congress leader was the driving force behind policies such as reservations for Muslim contractors, which it described as religious discrimination and blatant appeasement.

Expanding its attack, the BJP accused the Congress government of shielding radical elements, claiming that it had earlier withdrawn criminal cases against members of the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI), who were implicated in rioting and arson.

"Congress withdrew criminal cases against PFI terrorists who rioted and burned down police stations!" the BJP charged.

The party also criticised the state budget, alleging that Congress had allocated substantial funds to the Muslim community while neglecting Hindus. "Then, they allocated lakhs of crores to the Muslim community in the budget—while Hindus got a BIG FAT ZERO!" the statement read.

Raising concerns over perceived double standards in reservations, the BJP accused the Congress government of using force against certain communities while extending benefits to others.

"Now, they grant reservations to Muslims on a silver platter, but when Lingayats demanded their rightful reservation, they were mercilessly lathi-charged and brutally attacked by Congress’s police forces!" the party stated. UNI BDN SSP
