BJP govt has no control over law & order in UP: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Mar 15 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has no control over law and order in Uttar Pradesh.

In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, "When the administration itself is not safe in the state, how can we talk about the safety of the public. It is surprising that despite this, the Chief Minister does not hesitate to build castles in the air about the rule of law in the state and considers misleading the public as his biggest achievement, but he forgets that nothing remains hidden from the eyes of the public."

He said that in Bareilly, making mockery of the law the goons burnt down the bungalow of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by pouring petrol on it on the day of Holi.

"The police administration kept watching. A woman constable posted in Lucknow was going to her village with her brother after taking leave. Drunkards misbehaved with her near Mundera bus station and looted her gold chain. When the police went to arrest the accused, they looked helpless in front of the protest of women," he said.

The SP chief said that these are two recent incidents which show how high the spirits of the anarchist elements are in the state.

"The announcements of the CM are baseless. Criminals are committing crimes even from jail. Criminals from other states have also started considering UP as a safe state for themselves. They have no fear here," he alleged.

The SP chief alleged that it is also becoming a centre for terrorist activities.

"The truth is that the CM does not have time to look after the work in the state. He has become more of a star campaigner than an administrator. The state is lagging behind in all the steps of progress. Development is at a standstill. In the name of capital investment, there are only files of MoUs which are not going to be implemented. No investor wants to come here," he said.

Akhilesh said that anarchists are flourishing under the protection of the BJP government.

"The government is only troubled by democracy. BJP considers it its achievement to divide the society with the intention of building a wall of hatred, pitting one section against another and spreading animosity among the people," he said.

He said that the BJP's only work is to defame the opposition, especially the SP, file false cases against its leaders and harass them in various ways.

"Every section of the society is troubled and angry with the actions of the BJP government. The backward, Dalit, tribal, women and minority have all made up their mind that they will take the

power of PDA forward in 2027 and will not rest until they remove the BJP from power," he said.
