Bengaluru, May 22 (UNI) In a sharp political attack, Karnataka Minister and senior Congress leader Priyank Kharge on Thursday accused BJP of trying to divert the nation’s attention from employment and economic development by encouraging youth to become 'gau rakshaks' (cow vigilantes) and 'dharm rakshaks' (custodians of religion) instead of providing real job opportunities.
"They don’t want people to get proper jobs. They want everyone to become 'gau rakshaks' and 'dharm rakshaks'. Let them send their children to do that. We will continue to build Karnataka beyond Bengaluru, creating regional hubs and generating employment for the youth and for the country," Kharge told reporters, defending the Ramanagara development plan.
Kharge said Karnataka ranks among the top three states in both GST collection and investment inflows. "We are an economic hub, and we are going beyond Bengaluru to establish local economic accelerators. What’s wrong with that?" he asked.
