Amethi (UP), May 5 (UNI) The body of a 25-year-old Dalit youth was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances in Jamo area of Amethi district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the garland of slippers found around the neck of the youth has further complicated the incident. "The family has filed a complaint with the police alleging murder. The police, who arrived on the information, immediately brought down the body from the tree and sent it for postmortem," they said.
Police sources said that the body of the youth was found hanging from a tree in the forest near Majhgaon Dev Nagar crossing. "The youth was identified as Gaya Prasad Pasi (25), a resident of Jageshwar Ganj," they said.
Police sources said that the youth's uncle Siya Ram said that his nephew had left home on Sunday evening. Police station in-charge Vinod Singh said that the body has been sent for postmortem and further action will be taken after the report is received.
