Chhattisgarh: 3 dead, 25 injured as bus falls into deep gorge

Balrampur (Chhattisgarh), May 15 (UNI) Three people were killed, and 25 others were injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district on Thursday, police said.
The deceased included a young woman, a young man and a girl, police said. The bus was carrying a marriage procession from Shankargarh to Jharkhand, and fell uncontrollably into a deep ditch near Kanthi Ghat.
As soon as the accident was reported, a team of Chando police and 108 ambulance reached the spot and immediately started relief and rescue operations.
The injured were rushed to Chando primary health centre and referred to Ambikapur Medical College as their condition was stated to be critical. The other injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital Balrampur.
On receiving information about the incident, Balrampur Collector Rajendra Katara reached the hospital and took stock of the condition of the injured. He has instructed the health officials to provide better treatment.
