Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai attends Waqf Reform Awareness Campaign workshop

Raipur, May 1 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the Waqf Reform Awareness Campaign workshop at the BJP state office, Kushabhau Thackeray Complex, here on Thursday.

He was accompanied by BJP National General Secretary Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal.

In a post on X, CM Sai claimed that the Congress government had granted dictatorial powers to the Waqf Board, allowing it to claim government land and even temple land, exceeding its jurisdiction.

He criticized the Congress party for prioritizing its vote bank over the rights of Pasmanda Muslims and Muslim community's widowed women.
Sai highlighted that the Waqf Amendment Act passed by the central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, will benefit not only Pasmanda Muslims but also Muslim community's widowed women and the Bohra community.
He described the bill as a reinforcement of justice and equality values.

The workshop was attended by Union Minister of State Toekan Sahu, BJP State Organization General Secretary Pawan Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sav, ministers, MPs, MLAs, office-bearers, and party workers.
