CSK launches player documentary series

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) Five time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) launched a new player

documentary series titled "The Making Of".

The documentary started with current CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's Journey in the first episode,

a CSK release here said today.

This new series offers an in-depth and personal look into the lives of the team's star players, tracing

their journeys from childhood to their current success on the field.

The first episode of the series, released today, takes fans on an emotional and inspiring journey with

Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Viewers will get a rare glimpse into Ruturaj’s early days and challenges he faced rising from a

budding cricketer in Pune to prominence as one of the most talented batsmen in Indian cricket.

With exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with Ruturaj, his family, friends and childhood

coaches, ‘The Making Of’ offers fans an intimate portrait of the man behind the bat.

The first episode of "The Making Of" – Ruturaj Gaikwad is now available for streaming on Chennai

Super Kings’ official YouTube Channel and website.

Releasing some snippets and excerpts from the episode, Ruturaj Gaikwad on his comebacks said,

"Comebacks... I think for outside people, they see it in a way there, getting out 203 games and scoring a 50 is coming back."

"For me, it's about analysing how I got out, what mistakes I made. It's not about coming back. For

me it's about consistency", he said.

"Thanks to being part of CSK, I've learnt that technique where you can have that balance where

you can be critical about yourself, analyse yourself, getting to know what to improve...But not really over analyse", he said.

As CSK's batting coach 'Mr Cricket' Michael Hussey says, sometimes it's not right to complicate

things - it's better to keep it simple. But it's my habit to analyse whether it's a good day or a bad

day".

On Ruturaj being appointed CSK captain, Team CEO KS Viswanathan, Coach Stephen Fleming

as well as former skipper MS Dhoni had the confidence that Rutu will be the right choice. And

based on his performance, they felt that he will be a very good choice because of his qualities

as a player and how he could also move with the other players in the team.

"And he was watching MS from close quarters. So that gave him the confidence. I think it was a

decision only taken by MS and Flem. And it was announced at the last moment. The management

was not aware of it. But they took the right decision", he said.

Utkarsha Pawar Gaikwad, Ruturaj’s Wife said 'One day he comes up to me and he is like, say hi.

I was like, say hi to who? Say hi to the captain. I was like, what?! You are kidding me."

"It's fine. You don't have to joke about it. It's okay. One day it will happen. But not now. We were

not expecting it. I was not expecting it. Maybe he was. I don't know. Then we called up his friends.

I was like, I want to tell you something. One of the friends was like, please don't tell me that you

are pregnant. I was like, dude, no. It's bigger than this. I was like, let's make it a little dramatic.

So I was like, meet the captain of CSK. And they were like shocked for five minutes", she said.

Each episode will feature a different player from the squad, allowing fans to experience the journeys

of these athletes beyond the cricket pitch.
