Dalit leader Vinod Chaudhary joins Congress

Patna, Mar 28 (UNI) Veteran dalit leader and eminent social worker Vinod Chaudhary on Friday joined Congress in presence of senior party leaders.
Chaudhary accepted the membership of Congress in presence of party in-charge of Bihar Krishna Allaveru, president of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Rajesh Ram and other senior leaders in a function organised at state headquarter of the party.
After joining the Congress, Chaudhary said that he was highly impressed with principles and ideology of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi in protecting Constitution of the country and also rights of minorities and oppressed section of the society.
Gandhi had always been advocating for love, brotherhood and a spirit of mutual co-existence among various sections of society, he said.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, a dalit leader, was also concerned for upliftment of deprived section of the society, he added.
Both president of BPCC Rajesh Ram and party in-charge of Bihar Krishna Allaveru welcomed Chaudhary in the party and said that his induction would further strength the organisation.
It was expected that Chaudhary would work with vigour and dynamism to strengthen the party in his area of influence.
Chaudhary is grandson of veteran Congress leader Jaglal Chaudhary, who was minister in early decades after independence in Bihar government.
Vinod Chaudhary has immensely contributed to upliftment of deprived section of society in his long public life.
