Darul Uloom and Jamiat expressed strong objection to Waqf Bill

Saharanpur (UP), Apr 3 (UNI) After the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha and the debate in the Rajya Sabha, Muslim organisations and Ulemas of both Deobandi and Barelvi sects have strongly objected to it on Thursday.
On behalf of Darul Uloom, its Chancellor (Mohtamim) Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani Banarasi said that if the Waqf Bill becomes a law, it will be a black chapter in history. He said that Muslims will not accept this law.
He said, "This is a direct interference in the religious matters of Muslims, which has caused deep resentment among the Muslims of the country."
Presidents of both factions of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Maulana Arshad Madani and Mahmood Madani (former MP) have expressed their displeasure against this bill.
Arshad Madani said that Jamiat will fight a legal battle against it. Maulana Arshad said that the bill will take away the religious freedom of Muslims.
Maulana Mahmood Madani said that by bringing this bill, the government has shown its majoritarian mentality towards Muslims. He agreed that there was a need for reforms in the Waqf Act, but they do not accept this amendment bill.
The police in Saharanpur district are on high alert regarding this issue. However, the situation in the district remains completely calm and normal. There is no whisper or discussion even among non-Muslims. People are shrugging it off by calling it a completely political issue.
