Himachal Pradesh govt establishes Directorate of Recruitment to expedite hiring process

Shimla, Apr 3 (UNI) To streamline government recruitment and provide employment opportunities to the youth, the Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday announced the formation of the state Directorate of Recruitment here.
A press release issued here said a newly established body would serve as a nodal agency for the recruitment of Junior Office Assistants (IT) and other Group-C posts across various departments.
The Directorate of Recruitment will function under the administrative control of the Department of Personnel and will be headquartered in the HP Secretariat, Shimla.
According to the government notification, the agency will be responsible for expediting the direct recruitment process, ensuring transparency, and filling vacant posts efficiently.
The decision to set up a third recruitment agency comes in the wake of the failure of the New Himachal Pradesh Chaiyan Ayog, Hamirpur, which was unable to complete recruitment for clerical positions.
Additionally, allegations of corruption and scams in junior-rank recruitments during the previous government’s tenure further necessitated the creation of a new agency to restore public trust in the hiring process.
A government spokesperson emphasised that the establishment of the Directorate of Recruitment aims to prevent irregularities and ensure fair and merit-based recruitment.
The spokesperson further stated that any disputes or ambiguities regarding the notification would be resolved by the Department of Personnel, and its decision would be considered final and binding.
This step is seen as a corrective measure to rebuild confidence among job seekers in Himachal Pradesh. The government also hinted at additional reforms to enhance transparency and efficiency in public sector hiring.
With the formation of the Directorate of Recruitment, the state administration expects a faster and more transparent hiring process, benefiting thousands of aspiring candidates looking for government jobs. UNI ML SSP
