Pune, Apr 7 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at a few places over west Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Punjab, Gujarat region; at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi.
The day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, coastal
Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Konkan and Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Telangana.
These were below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at isolated places over Rayalaseema and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 45.6°C was reported at Barmer (west Rajasthan) and Kandla (Saurashtra and Kutch) over the country.
Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Assam.
On Sunday, Heatwave conditions at many places with severe heat wave conditions in isolated pockets prevailed over southwest Rajasthan; Heatwave to severe heat wave conditions in many parts of Kutch; isolated pockets of Saurashtra, Gujarat region and Himachal Pradesh. Heatwave conditions at some places prevailed over east Rajasthan, in isolated pockets over Haryana and west Madhya Pradesh.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Kerala and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Andhra
Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north interior Karnataka and south Interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
