Day temperatures markedly above normal in JK, Ladakh

Pune, Mar 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin on Tuesday.
The temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over east Rajasthan and above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Delhi, at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya and Lakshadweep and at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, west Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and Konkan and Goa, the IMD said.
These were below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, interior Karnataka and Odisha and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.6°C was reported at Barmer (west Rajasthan) over the country.
Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch and Madhya Maharashtra; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep and at isolated places over Delhi, Bihar and Kerala and Mahe.
These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur,
Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at many places over east Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, east Rajasthan, coastal Karnataka, West Bengal and Sikkim and Assam and Meghalaya and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 13.3°C is reported at Adampur (Punjab) over the plains of the country.
Hailstorms were reported at isolated locations over Telangana and north interior Karnataka. Squally/Gusty winds prevailed at isolated locations over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs today.
