DGP Nalin Prabat signals tough stance on narco-terror

Srinagar, Mar 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabat on Friday signalled a tough stance against the narco-terror saying that he would go hard on those involved in the menace.

DGP was talking to reporters in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after a public darbar.

“We will be very strict,” DGP said when asked about the rising narco-terror challenge in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday, while chairing a security review meeting in Srinagar, the DGP discussed the growing challenge of narco-terrorism and directed security agencies to intensify efforts against drug smuggling networks linked to terror funding.

When asked about infiltration from across as the snow has started melting along the passes, the DGP Prabat appeared to downplay concerns with a remark likening it to weather updates.
"You are talking about the meteorological department. The temperature is increasing, but who said that infiltration is happening?" he quipped, leaving the issue open-ended.
