Excise Inspector commits suicide in Sitapur

Sitapur (UP), Apr 1 (UNI) An Excise Inspector shot himself and committed suicide inside his car in City Kotwali area of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said Excise Inspector Alok Srivastava posted in Banda, was a resident of Shivpuri in Sitapur. He went out for a walk on Tuesday morning. "Later, he left the house in his car for some important work but did not reach home," they said.
Police sources said that the family members, on being informed by some people, reached Sadar Bazar Road and somehow unlocked the car. "He was taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. "A forensics team, along with a dog squad team and police team, is conducting a thorough investigation at the spot," they said.
Police sources said that Alok's wife Amrita Srivastava is also posted in Banda as Assistant Excise Commissioner. "The couple had come home on Holi vacation. Police are investigating the matter deeply," they said.
