Expedite ongoing construction projects before monsoon sets in: Yogi

Gorakhpur, May 11 (UNI) UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed that most of the ongoing construction works should be finished before the monsoon begins. He also directed that all drains be cleaned on time and specifically called to expedite the Gordhaiya Nala project, which is crucial to resolving water logging issues.
While reviewing development projects and law and order with senior officials in the assembly hall of Gorakhnath Temple, the CM said that every development project has a set deadline and must be completed on time with good quality.
He said there should be no carelessness or delay at any level.
He assessed the current progress of all major ongoing development projects in the district and directed that each project must be reviewed and monitored every 15 days, first at the departmental level and then at the senior administrative level.
Yogi emphasised that regular monitoring ensures accountability. He directed that projects where land acquisition issues have been resolved should now be fast-tracked with focused, mission-mode construction efforts.
He said the monsoon is likely to begin in the second half of the coming month and stressed the need to prevent water logging in urban and rural areas.
He acknowledged significant progress made in recent years to address the issue and emphasised the need to sustain and improve these efforts.
The CM directed the officials to pay special attention to essential civic amenities, including drinking water, sanitation and uninterrupted power supply in both cities and villages.
He urged them to listen to sensitive public grievances and ensure timely resolution.
While addressing complaints registered on the Integrated Grievances Redressal System (IGRS) portal, he also emphasised the importance of following up with the complainants for feedback.
Reviewing the law and order situation, Yogi reiterated that the state's zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals must continue unabated. He directed that even minor incidents be taken seriously and acted upon promptly.
He called for intensified police patrolling, vehicle and foot patrols in urban and rural areas alike and further improvement in the response time of Police Response Vehicles (PRVs). Besides, he stressed the need for improved traffic management, instructing that no vehicle should be parked on roads and that designated parking zones be strictly enforced, including specified stands for tempos.
