Chennai, May 10 (UNI) A fake Korean Visa website scam was busted by the
Central Crime Branch (CCB) wing of the Greater Chennai City Police and
arrested two people--one in Mumbai and the other at Jaipur in Rajasthan--in
this connection.
A Police release here today said Mr.Je-Hyoung Lee, the Deputy Consul General
of the Consulate of Republic of Korea in Chennai, filed a complaint with the Chennai
City Police Commissioner A Arun after discovering a fake Korean visa website being
used to cheat Indian nationals.
The complaint was made following an inquiry on January 27, 2025 from an Indian

As per the instructions of the Commissioner of Police, a special team led by
Inspector Abraham Cruz Durairaj, CCB, Cyber Crime Wing, Delta-1 Team, was
formed.
Based on information gathered from domain service providers, the team conducted
a raid in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and arrested Mohammed Parvez (29), the creator
of the fake Korea visa website.
He was produced before the XI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, here and
remanded in judicial custody.
Further investigation revealed that another accused, Mahaveer Khathat (34) from
Ajmer, Rajasthan, was identified as the main person behind the fake visa websites
for multiple countries.
The special team proceeded to Rajasthan and arrested him at Jaipur on May 8.
He was brought to Chennai produced and before the Magistrate Court and remanded
in judicial custody till May 20.
The special team seized two laptops, three mobile phones, and 14 credit and debit
