Darbhanga, May 15 (UNI) Within hours after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed students in the premises of Ambedkar hostel, an FIR was registered against him and a hundred others, including party leaders, on Thursday for violating prohibitory orders of the district administration.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Kumar told media persons here that an FIR was registered against Gandhi and 20 other party leaders. More than a hundred unknown persons were also made accused for violating prohibitory orders as they reached Ambedkar hostel despite an order issued not to hold any political meeting there, he added.
Those who were named accused included former President of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) Madan Mohan Jha, Nazia Hasan, Munna Khan, Aslam Adab, and other party leaders. Prohibitory orders were issued under section 163 of BNS for not holding any meeting in the Ambedkar hostel.
Earlier during the day, Gandhi had forcibly addressed students in the premises of Ambedkar hostel despite the order of the administration prohibiting him from holding a meeting there. Gandhi had marched more than 2 km along with hundreds of party workers, leaving behind his vehicle to address students, when stopped by the police, citing prohibitory orders.
