Fire broke out in the switchyard of Obra thermal project

Sonbhadra (UP), May 8 (UNI) A massive fire broke out in the switchyard of Obra Thermal Project in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning due to which two 200 MW units, 10th and 11th, tripped, sources said here.
Sources in the thermal project said that the fire broke out at 7 am in the Obra Thermal Project. "Within a short time, the fire took a horrific form. As soon as the fire broke out, the 10th and 11th units (200-200 MW) shut down," they said.
Sources said that as soon as the information about the fire was received, CISF personnel and fire wing reached the spot and started trying to control the fire. "The fire was completely controlled at around 10 am," they said.
The officials who reached the spot said that the damage caused by the fire is being assessed. The first priority is to start the closed units. No public or employees have suffered any damage due to this incident.
