Fire in resin factory in HP town; 2 workers burnt alive

SOLAN (Himachal Pradesh), MAY 6 Two workers were burnt alive in a sudden fire that broke out at Harichetna resin factory at Kosari village near Ramshahar under Nalagarh sub-division of the district, on Tuesday night.

Police said preliminary investigations at the time of the accident suggested that the two victims were sleeping in the factory shed and got trapped in the flames. The deceased were identified as Arjun Kumar (50) and Shiv Dayal (24).

The fire tenders from Nalagarh and Baddi took over three hours to extinguish the fire early Tuesday.

The fire has been partially controlled, but the flames have not been completely extinguished due to the flammable chemicals present in the factory.

According to fire officer Jaipal, both the workers were sleeping in a temporary shed built inside the factory premises.

SDM Nalagarh and police officers reached the spot and supervised the fire extinguishing operations. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately. Further investigation was in progress, police said.
