Five more solar parks commissioned under MSKVY-2.0:Kachhot

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 12 (UNI) Five more solar parks have been commissioned in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Jalna districts in last month under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 to provide uninterrupted and reliable power supply to farmers during the day for irrigation.
An official media statement issued by Pawankumar Kachhot, Chief Engineer of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar zone on Monday stated that so far 15 solar parks have been commissioned in Mahavitaran's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar zone under this scheme and 22,740 agricultural pump consumers are directly benefiting from it.

On the initiative of Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis and under the guidance of Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Abha Shukla and Mahavitaran's Chairman and Managing Director Lokesh Chandra, the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 is being implemented in Maharashtra.
All the solar parks with a total capacity of 16,000 MW will be completed by March 2026 and the state will be supplied with electricity generated entirely from solar energy for agriculture.
Under this scheme, solar power generation parks are being set up at various places in the state for the same purpose and this is the world's largest decentralised solar power generation project. For this, an independent agricultural power generation company has been established.

Under this scheme, solar parks are being set up on land within a five km radius of the Mahavitaran's substation and government lands are being acquired on priority for it. The electricity generated from this is being supplied to agricultural pumps in the area during the day through feeders in the Mahavitaran's substations, he informed.
So far, eight projects have been commissioned in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district under the scheme. From these, 11,725 agricultural pumps are being supplied with electricity during the day.
From the seven projects commissioned in Jalna district, 11,015 farmers are benefitting from electricity during the day, added Kachhot.
