Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan at invitation of Pak Ministry of Interior: Assam CM

Guwahati, May 18 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took the debate between him and Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi to another level alleging that the latter had visited Pakistan at the invitation of the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan.
"I reiterate, with full authority and responsibility as the Chief Minister of Assam, that Shri Gaurab Gogoi, Member of Parliament from Assam, visited Pakistan at the invitation of the Ministry of Interior of the Government of Pakistan. He spent several days there. We are enquiring further into the details surrounding this visit and related associations," Sarma wrote on his X handle on Monday.
Sarma's reaction came after Gogoi dared him to prove the allegation against him that he has visited Pakistan.
"99% of what the Chief Minister has been saying is nonsense. He should put out the facts in public domain and stop hiding behind an imaginary September deadline. I doubt if even in September the Chief Minister can put out any concrete facts.
"I remember how during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Assam he created a a fuss about a supposed “body double” of Rahul Gandhi," said Gaurav Gogoi on his X handle after Sarma alleged him if visiting Pakistan.
On Saturday, the Assam Chief minister has opposed the inclusion of Lok Sabha MP from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi in the multi-party delegation to be sent abroad to explain India's stance on terrorism from Pakistan and urged leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi not to include Gogoi in the delegation abroad in the interest of national security and beyond partisan politics.
"One of the MPs named in the list (from Assam ) has not denied his prolonged stay in Pakistan—reportedly for two weeks—and credible documents show that his wife was drawing salary from a Pakistan-based NGO while working in India."
