Palampur Aprl 24 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and former Union minister Shanta Kumar said on Thursday that the entire country is shocked by the Pahalgam massacre. He said there was not only grief but also anger all around.

He said it is a harsh truth that local help facilitated foreign infiltration. He said the government has now arrested 1,500 suspects and they were being questioned.

Kumar said that a few months ago, four foreign terrorists were caught from Reasi and Bandipur and the names of terrorists were disclosed by them during interrogation and a large amount of arms and ammunition were also recovered from them.

Kumar said it was surprising that despite security agencies having received information about terrorist activities, such an inhuman incident took place. "It raises some questions about the present government."

The veteran BJP leader said that according to information, security agencies were told that about 60 terrorists were active in Kashmir valley. Whenever such terrorist incidents have happened, the biggest reason cited was the help of local sources, he added.

He attributed the Pahalgam incident to the failure of intelligence agencies.
