Hailstorm and lightning claim 20 lives in Nalanda district

Rajgir, Apr 10 (UNI) At least 20 people were killed in hailstorms and lightning at different places in Nalanda district on Thursday evening.
District Public Relations Officer Gupteshwar Prasad said that of the 20 causalities six people died in Nagma village of Biharsharif block, one in Bishanpur and two in Chainpura village, one in Mora Talab and two in Amba of Rahui block, three in Dhekwara of Islampur block, one in Durgapur village of Giriak block, one in Khandar of Silav block, one each in Gurawa and Gulla Vigha village of Ben block and one person died in Rasalpur village of Nursarai block.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar directed to conduct the postmortem of all the deceased in Sadar Hospital today itself, for which a special team of doctors has been formed. The injured were also being treated by a team.

Chakma Council in Mizoram presents Rs 230 crore budget amid fiscal caution, development focus

Aizawl, Apr 18(UNI) The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in Mizoram kicked off its budget session on Thursday with Chief Executive Member (CEM) Molin Kumar Chakma tabling the budget estimates for the financial year 2025–2026. The proposed budget stands at Rs 230.12 crore and was presented during a session chaired by CADC Chairman Lakkhan Chakma.

Lunglei authorities to tighten control on refugee movement from Myanmar
