Hailstorms at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh

Pune, Apr 22 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Vidarbha and at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam and Meghalaya on Tuesday. the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, at a few places over west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Punjab, Uttarakhand, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, the IMD bulletin said.
Temperatures were below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at many places over Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, at isolated places over south interior Karnataka, Telangana, and normal over the rest of the country.
On Monday, the country's highest maximum temperature of 45.6°C was reported at Chandrapur (Vidarbha).
Hailstorms occurred at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, northwest Uttar Pradesh, north Punjab and Telangana.
Heat wave conditions prevailed in isolated pockets of northeast Madhya Pradesh, while warm night conditions prevailed at isolated places over eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh; at a few places in Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep; at isolated in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
