Hyd: GHMC official held for demanding bribe of Rs 70,000

Hyderabad, Apr 15 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Vipperla Srinivas, the Deputy Director, Urban Biodiversity, GHMC, Serilingampally Zone, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000 at his office in Charminar near here on Tuesday afternoon.
Srinivas allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2.2 lakh from the complainant and accepted Rs 70,000 for showing official favour – “as a reward for clearing the check-measured bills for the supply of plant material to the Urban BioDiversity Wing, GHMC, Charminar Zone”, ACB said in a release here.
The accused officer had already accepted Rs 1.5 lakh as a bribe from the complainant.
After recovering the bribe from him , he was arrested and produced before the Prl Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad .
The case is under investigation.
