Hyd: Telangana Guv highlights importance of advanced orthopaedic surgery

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma emphasised the importance of advanced orthopaedic surgery during his address as the chief guest at the inauguration of a two-day International Conference & Live Workshop on the Future of Arthroscopic Surgery.

The event, held under the auspices of "Hyderabad Arthroscopy Conclave-2025," was organized by Yashoda Hospitals-Secunderabad at Hotel Park Hyatt, Hyderabad, on Saturday.

In his speech, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted the increasing involvement of youth in sports and the growing need for advanced orthopaedic care. "More and more youth in India are now turning towards sports to be physically fit and healthy. India is making inroads in the field of sports worldwide," he said.

Highlighting the significance of orthopaedic advancements, he added, "Sports injuries are one of the most common orthopaedic injuries in a country like India, where sports are a passion for people of all ages. This conclave is a great platform for young orthopaedic doctors, trainees, and physiotherapists to expand their expertise by getting exposed to the latest advances, exchanging ideas, and gaining knowledge through robotic training, live surgery, and video-based teaching."

Speaking on the occasion, Yashoda Hospitals Group Director, Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, said, “This international conference & live workshop, which focuses on the latest techniques and advancements in arthroscopy surgery, will highlight the importance of minimally invasive surgery.

Arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat joint-related problems, has revolutionised the way orthopaedic surgeries are performed."
He added that this is the first time in the Telugu states that more than 60 international faculty members have gathered in Hyderabad to share their expertise and knowledge.

He also noted that the program attracted tremendous interest among orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and medical trainees from across India, with over 600 delegates participating in the event.

Dr R A Purnachadra Tejaswi, Organising Chairman and Senior Sports Orthopedic and Arthroscopy surgeon, Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, remarked, “This event is an incredible opportunity for surgeons and healthcare professionals to learn from each other and exchange knowledge. With the rapid advancements in arthroscopic technologies, it is crucial that we stay updated to continue providing the best care for our patients."
The event will also include a specialised exhibition featuring the latest tools, technologies, and products used in arthroscopic surgery, giving attendees firsthand exposure to innovations and newer technologies, Dr Purnachadra Tejaswi added.

The event focused on state-of-the-art medical procedures, including Arthroscopic surgery, Robotic assistance, and AI Artificial Intelligence integration in the field of Orthopaedic minimally invasive surgery.
