Itanagar Police return 75 lost mobile phones during 10th Samvad event

Itanagar, Apr 30 (UNI) In its continued effort to strengthen community-police engagement, the Itanagar Capital Police successfully returned 75 recovered lost mobile phones to their rightful owners during the 10th edition of Samvad held at Chimpu on Wednesday under the 'Police Ajin' initiative.
Gracing the event, local MLA Techi Kaso commended the public-centric efforts of the Itanagar Capital Police in tracing and returning lost mobile handsets. He appreciated the department’s sustained commitment to citizen service and transparent policing.
A dedicated team, led by Chimpu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Inspector N Nishant, played a pivotal role in the recovery efforts. The team included head constables Jerry Romin and Rili Tabri, constables Dejum Ete, Tai Lirak, Tasser Tasso, Rabin Singh, lady constable Inya Gadi, and constable Jeni Wangpan from SP Office, whose coordinated efforts have significantly contributed to the tracing of lost mobile phones across the capital region.
Capital SP Rohit Rajbir Singh congratulated the team for their relentless dedication in addressing public grievances and reinforcing trust in the policing system.
Several citizens present at the event shared their experiences, expressing gratitude for the proactive approach of the Capital Police in recovering the lost devices.
The Samvad platform continues to serve as a vital bridge between the police and the community, fostering trust, accountability and cooperation.
Notably, the Capital Police recovered more than 300 mobile phones in 2024 and has already retrieved 150 handsets in 2025, showcasing their consistent efforts in such cases.
The successful handover of 75 phones during today’s event stands as a testament to the department’s dedication to public welfare and its ongoing mission to build stronger community relations. The Itanagar Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to responsive, citizen-friendly, and service-oriented policing.
