Kolkata, Apr 30 (UNI) Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday welcomed the bail
granted to Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das by the Bangladesh High Court.
"Victory for Dharma!," Adhikari said whilst welcoming the release of "Revered Hindu Monk, Shri
Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a fearless voice of Sanatan Dharma, has been granted bail today, by the Bangladesh High Court," the Nandigram MLA said on his X handle.
"After months of unjust persecution for upholding sacred values and protesting against the ill treatment of the Sanatani Community in Bangladesh, finally Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu is a free man.
"It's a triumph of truth over falsehood. Let’s unite in gratitude to Shree Krishna for protecting His devotee during such hardship. Jai Shree Krishna," Adhikari continued.
"Even today, when I was addressing the Sanatani devotees at the grand Sanatani Sammelan at Contai, Purba Medinipur district, I raised slogans for the release of Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu," the BJP leader concluded.
Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das was granted bail by the Bangladesh high court after spending five months in jail for sedition, following his arrest on charges of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh.
Das, a former ISKCON leader and spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote was arrested on November 25 at Dhaka airport.
After a lower court rejected his application for bail, he applied to the High Court where the order was
passed by a bench of Justice Md Atoar Rahman and Justice Md Ali Reza.
